Apple iMac networking hassle
We have just got an old iMac 400 in at work to test our websites out on Safari. It has shown up a few pretty serious problems that we would have been unaware of if we hadn’t tested on the mac.
However, getting the damn thing on the network has proven to be a pain. We have some pretty hardcore techies there, but no-one has a clue how to get the iMac on the network properly. It is getting an internet feed off the network, but is not logged on to the domain. It has really made me aware of how used to Windows I am. OSX is totally different (in many good ways!) and it obviously needs a bit of mac know how to set up. I couldn’t even find anything on the net, not because its not there, but I just don’t know what to search for 🙂
