I run my own [sustainable web design](https://byintention.co "sustainable web design nottingham") business called Intention. I make low carbon, fast loading and good looking websites, ecommerce sites and content managed websites for businesses and charities across the UK. It started as a hobby then became a profession when I worked for a web design company in Lincoln while I was at university. What I do ---------- The business was officially set up in 2007 and I specialise in PHP based systems like WordPress and GravCMS. I don’t advertise a great deal, as most jobs come from word of mouth and paid referrals. I use a selection of talented freelance designers & programmers and run a virtual office. Green Web Hosting ----------------- I also offer eco-friendly [green web hosting](https://byintention.co/green-web-hosting/ "green web hosting "). This uses renewably generated power to run the web servers and is a great way of making your website more sustainable for little more than standard hosting. The technical support is great too – one of our clients recently lost their website because a host (that won’t be named here… ) just deleted their site. I don’t do things like that.
